Guidelines

Introduction

Welcome to SimPictures! Below are the guidelines for participation in our community. By using this platform, you agree to comply with these guidelines. In case of a violation, actions may be taken against your SimPictures account, including warnings, content removal, or account suspension.

The guidelines serve as general recommendations on how the platform is moderated.

Communication

Language: The official language of SimPictures is English. Please use English for all communication to ensure that moderators can properly manage the platform. The use of other languages may hinder moderation efforts, so it is discouraged. Avoid using explicit language, and maintain a tone suitable for a general audience.

Harassment and Bullying: Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Hate Speech: Do not engage in any form of hate speech or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics.

Privacy: Respect others' privacy. Do not share personal information (yours or others') publicly without consent, especially if the intent is to cause harm.

Spam: Spamming is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, repeatedly posting the same content, excessive self-promotion, and sharing irrelevant links or advertisements.

Sensitive Topics: To maintain a harmonious community, avoid discussing sensitive topics such as politics or religion, as they can lead to unnecessary conflict.

False Information: Do not spread false or misleading information. Make sure that any claims you make are accurate and verifiable.

Impersonation: Do not impersonate other users, moderators, or public figures. Misleading others by pretending to be someone else is strictly prohibited.

Personal Disputes: Resolve personal disputes privately. Publicly airing grievances can disrupt the community and create unnecessary tension.

Positive Engagement: Strive to contribute positively to discussions. Offer constructive feedback, engage in healthy debates, and support fellow community members.

NSFW Content: Posting or sharing NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content, including but not limited to explicit images, suggestive language, or links to inappropriate material, is strictly prohibited. All content shared on the platform should be appropriate for a general audience.

Your profile

Username: Your username identifies your account and can only be set during sign-up. Moderators have the right to request a username change or change it without prior notice, for example if it violates community standards.

Banner and Profile Picture: You can customize your profile with a banner (either a color or an image) and a profile picture.

Bio and Quick Bio: You can describe yourself in the "Bio" and "Quick Bio" sections. A quick bio is a shorter version of your main bio.

Picture guidelines

Image

When uploading images, follow these rules:

  • Screenshots should only feature content related to flight simulation.
  • The aircraft should be the main subject, although you may also emphasize the airport or surrounding scenery.
  • Overlays, windows, or other user interfaces (including aircraft labels) are not allowed and must be cropped out. Exception: any product-related licensing marks (e.g., Prepar3D License mark).
  • Do not upload images that intentionally make a product look bad.
  • Images of pirated content, products containing pirated elements, or illegally modified products are not allowed.
  • The same image cannot be uploaded more than once.

Only landscape-oriented screenshots are allowed. You must crop your image to one of the following aspect ratios during the upload process:

  • 3:2 (3000x2000)
  • 16:10 (1920x1200)
  • 16:9 (1920x1080)
  • 64:27 (2560x1080, close to 21:9)

Images can be uploaded in PNG (.png) or JPEG (.jpg/.jpeg) formats, with a maximum file size of 16 MB. The server will process and convert the image as needed.

Ensure that the graphics quality is not too low, as poor-quality images may be rejected.

Editing screenshots is allowed, but avoid excessive changes. Edits should not be overly noticeable or significantly alter the appearance of the simulator.
